Watch YouTube together, in sync
Yes. Waku is a free web app where you can watch YouTube together with strangers and new friends. Make an anonymous profile in about a minute, with no email and no real photos, then open a Portal or any chat, search or paste a link, and play it for everyone at once.
What it is
Sending links back and forth is fine. Watching the same second together is better. Search YouTube or paste a link, and everyone in the room or chat sees it play, pause and skip at the same time.
Tips
- Make a queue: one video always leads to five more.
- Give control to someone else and let them DJ.
- The mini player follows you around the app.
- Video essays at 2am count as a plan.
Keep it good
Keep it to things everyone in the room wants to watch. Hosts can lock control, and anyone can be reported or blocked.
