Meet people · the Philippines

Chat with strangers in the Philippines

Yes. Waku is an anonymous chat app where you can meet Filipinos and people from around the world. There's no email or phone number, cards can show a country flag, and Portals can be set to a country, so you can watch movies or YouTube together with locals.

Chatting in the Philippines

People in the Philippines usually chat in Filipino, English and Cebuano, and mostly on Messenger, Telegram and Instagram, apps that tie every chat to your real number or account. Waku is for meeting someone new without any of that: an anonymous card, a stranger in Random, or a Portal playing something you both like.

Try opening with “Kumusta ka?” (How are you?)

How it works

  1. Pick a nickname and a picture. No email or phone.
  2. Add your country, if you like, so people can see where you’re from.
  3. Swipe cards, tap Random, or join a Portal for your country.
  4. Say yes and it lands in their Requests. They accept, you chat.
